Ken Kaneki Dakimakura: Two Tokyo Ghoul Covers Compared

Choosing a Ken Kaneki dakimakura is easier when you compare the complete artwork rather than the character name alone. Two listings can show the same name and offer the same sizes, yet create a very different impression through their backgrounds, clothing, poses and treatment of the reverse side.

This guide compares two current Tokyo Ghoul covers: product code 20708 and product code 52014. Both previews show white-haired and dark-haired depictions of Kaneki, but one uses a dark background throughout while the other combines a pale background with prominent red elements. Start with that visual difference, then check the configuration you intend to order.

Begin with the background you prefer

For a quick first pass, look at the two previews at a similar size. On 20708, dark gray fills the space around both figures. Black clothing and the dark background give the design a largely subdued palette, with the white hair, face and shirt providing the brighter areas.

On 52014, the pale background creates a lighter overall field. Large red shapes cross one side, while a red flower and scattered petals appear on the other. If red is the detail you want to notice from across the room, this is the more obvious of these two previews to examine first.

These are observations about the displayed artwork, not measurements of the finished fabric color. Screen brightness and the selected textile can affect how you perceive a design. Use the previews to choose the composition, and keep any question about the physical print separate from that choice.

20708: two Kaneki depictions on a dark background

The Ken Kaneki cover with product code 20708 places both figures against dark gray. One panel shows white hair, an open black shirt, gray-brown trousers and dark footwear. A tooth-patterned mask appears beside the head rather than covering the face in that panel.

20708 keeps a dark background across both artwork panels.

The other panel shows dark hair, an eye patch, a white shirt and a black waistcoat. The raised arm changes the silhouette, while the white sleeves create a stronger contrast with the surrounding gray than the black shirt does on the companion panel.

Consider this design if you want the two displayed sides to share a similar background while still offering different clothing and hair details. The repeated gray gives you a consistent visual setting whichever illustration faces outward. That consistency may matter more to you than adding a large accent color.

Before deciding, inspect the lower half as well as the faces. The trousers, footwear and leg positions are part of the full-length image. A thumbnail focused on the head cannot show whether you enjoy the complete arrangement.

52014: pale backgrounds with red accents

The Kaneki 52014 cover with red-accented artwork takes a different approach. Its white-haired panel combines a black top, pale shorts and visible chain details with large red forms crossing the composition. Those red shapes occupy much more of the image than the smaller accents in 20708.

52014 pairs a bold red composition with a flower detail on its companion panel.

The dark-haired panel shows an eye patch, white shirt, dark waistcoat and trousers, with a red flower held near the face. The red petals repeat that accent around the figure. Compared with the large crossing forms on the other panel, the flower creates a smaller point of attention.

Choose this route to investigate if you like a noticeable change between the two sides: one with sweeping red elements and the other with a more concentrated floral detail. Look at the whole pair before deciding which side you expect to display most often.

There is no need to attach a particular story scene or edition name to either illustration to make the purchase decision. The listing and visible artwork give you enough concrete details to compare the design you will actually select.

A practical way to choose between the two

  • For a dark background on both sides: start with 20708 and check how its white shirt and hair contrast with the gray.
  • For prominent red elements: start with 52014 and decide whether you enjoy both the larger shapes and the smaller flower detail.
  • For similar surroundings on either side: compare the repeated background treatment of 20708.
  • For more variation within the pair: compare the different uses of red across the two panels of 52014.

If you are still undecided, save the product code beside each preview and write one sentence about why you prefer it. That keeps a visual choice from getting lost among several tabs with almost identical titles. The guide to reading full dakimakura product images offers a broader checklist for inspecting both sides and distinguishing artwork from the selected configuration.

Choose the dimension pair that matches your setup

Both reviewed listings currently offer 100 × 34, 120 × 40, 150 × 50, 160 × 50 and 180 × 60 cm. Their matching menus mean you can compare these two illustrations while keeping the intended size constant. Select the size for the insert you own or plan to buy, rather than choosing it from the proportions of a browser preview.

For example, 150 × 50 and 160 × 50 cm have the same listed width but different lengths. The 180 × 60 cm option changes both dimensions. Check your insert’s size information before adding a cover to the cart; the cover and inner pillow size guide explains that matching step.

The product titles identify these items as covers. A filled-looking preview should not be treated as confirmation that an inner pillow comes with the selection. Establish the package contents separately if you are assembling your first setup.

Keep the material comparison separate from the artwork

20708 and 52014 currently list the same five material names: Peach Skin, Natural Velvet, Smooth Knit, Two Way Tricot and Upgraded Two Way Tricot. This lets you make the artwork decision without assuming one of the two designs forces a different fabric choice.

If you already like the material of another cover, find its exact name in your order details and compare that same option on these pages. If you are trying a different surface, consider the feel and care routine you want. A darker illustration does not identify a different textile, and a brighter preview is not evidence of a particular fabric finish.

The live menus should remain your final check. A product code identifies the design, while the selected size and material identify the version of that design you are ordering. Keep all three together in your purchase notes.

Review the configured price before checkout

Each listing currently has a starting price of US$24.99. Size and material options can add to that starting figure, so it is not the total for every available configuration. Compare the same size and fabric on both pages before deciding whether price affects your choice.

Also review any additional option fields. An accessory appearing in a selector is a separate purchase decision; it should not enter your order simply because you were comparing two illustrations. Check the final cart entries, quantities and configured amounts, then review any charges shown at checkout.
